The Keys to Online Success

keys to online successThe question is, when it comes to making money online and finding online success, do programs or business models matter? For me the answer has been both Yes and No.

Yes, because the business model that you are involved with can determine the type of success you have as well as how much work you have to put into it and how difficult a sell it is to the customer. I mean, if you do not have a product or service or opportunity that someone else is willing to pay for or get involved with then you may just be out of luck.

So you do need a proven program, no doubt about it, but I also say that programs don’t matter because if you cannot market your product or service, no matter how good it is, you may as well accept the fact that you won’t make a dime. You have to get the training and education required to learn how to generate leads, convert those leads and earn an income.

Generally speaking, there are 5 key components that you need to look at when building a business online.

  1. Program/business model
  2. Training
  3. Marketing system
  4. Mentor/coach
  5. Commitment

The first key component is getting involved with a program that is conducive to the internet marketing world. There are many different income generating programs out there. I personally am involved with a couple and they ALL generate income, but some are just better than others due to my personal requirements (I like residual income) and the amount of work I must exert to build these businesses.

The second component is training. You must get the proper training to get your project off of the ground. There are many different methods of generating targeted visitors to your site and it isn’t that difficult provided you learn and develop the skills necessary to build a business online. There are many successful marketers that provide some training, I personally have a six week training course for people that are interested in learning how to market online and it’s free. (Elite Marketing Systems Group – Six Week Intensive)

A Marketing system is extremely important for a variety of reasons, but mainly due to the fact that most people are not born hard “closers.” I mean let’s get real here, someone that is an super-awesome sales dude or dudette is probably going to find success no matter what the program, right? But what about the average person, how do they find the same success? The rest of us find online success by creating marketing systems that do the informing and selling. This is a key skill that will help the most shy person in your organization become a high earner from recruiting and sponsoring.

Having a mentor or coach around to teach you how to do all of this is HUGE! When someone with experience is willing to take you by the hand and show you “the ropes” you are about 5  steps ahead of everyone else. There is no replacement for someone that is willing to guide you through the rough waters of internet marketing or network marketing. These folks will show you what works, what doesn’t and will help you stay on the most direct path to help you achieve your goals.

Of all of these components, and all of them are important, perhaps the most important is YOUR commitment. Most of us have heard the quote, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make ’em drink.” That is true for anything – and people as well! I can show you exactly how to find markets of people looking for what you have, how to drive this targeted traffic to your sites and how to convert this traffic, but I can’t make you do the work necessary to get the systems in place and to be quite honest, if a person isn’t willing to commit to their own success, then why should anyone else?

Your own efforts will determine how far you go. Your own commitment level will be the main motivating factor as to how much success you will achieve – no matter what the business model or plan.

As I’ve stated above, all of these components are incredibly important. All of the pieces fit together to form the picture of online success, but you do have to make a choice to go after what it is that you want. Once you do that, find the program, find the training and marketing systems and the coach that will take you to the next level. You’ll just have to bring your commitment to the table, but when you do – the treasure you seek is not that far away.

Is It All About You?

is it all about youIf you could join an opportunity and start recruiting people right away or start generating tons of leads every single day, do you think you might find a little success? Of course you would and it is possible.

How?

The Formula For Successful Team Building

Goes like this, figure out what the needs of those involved within your niche are and fill those needs. Sounds easy, but amazingly enough most people don’t get this part. Much of the time the effort that you put forth is not really for other people, but for yourself.

People that you talk to on the phone or in person will figure out if you have an agenda or not, just by the little cues you throw out there. If you ever find yourself in a conversation with someone and you are thinking about how to insert a point about your latest and greatest opportunity into the exchange then you probably aren’t really listening, are you?

So often we sign up to a program or opportunity all excited about the buckets of money we are going to make hitting up everyone we see on our meteoric rise to the top of the heap only to realize after a few days or a couple of weeks that people really don’t want to hear our crap. What? You don’t want to learn how to make money???

Of course, people want to learn how to make money, they just don’t want to hear it from you right now. Why? Because your focus is not on them and their situation or their problem – your focus is on yourself, it’s all about you!

How do we change this?

Understanding Human Nature

First, let’s be honest. In just about every business out there online right now we are involved with other people, so it would make sense that we need to learn how to deal with people. We might even need to like one or two of them!

Let’s start by that listening thing. Do you “actively” listen to someone when they are talking? Do you ask questions, open ended questions, about their life? This IS a start.

No Agendas

Stop trying to figure out an angle to introduce them to the plan. Rather than take a business card and ask if they are interested in making money while handing it to them, tell them you enjoyed the conversation and give it to them because you would like to know more – and be sincere. If you don’t like this person, DON’T GIVE THEM A CARD OR A PHONE NUMBER OR AN EMAIL ADDRESS! Kids do this all of the time, sure you can too.

If you do listen, think of how you can help that person. If it’s not financial, don’t offer a financial solution. Sometimes people just want to know that there is another human out there paying attention to them.

This doesn’t just translate into face to face meetings, it also comes across with the social sites like facebook and what not. Are people speaking with you or at you online? What are your online communication habits?

Put yourself and your issues behind others when you are texting or sending out messages to people. If you are “chatting” with someone online, don’t have ten chats going on at once. Focus on the one, stop focusing on yourself and what you need to become successful.

Building Relationships and Success

If you do this, you will be seen as a professional who cares – and you really will. You will build a level of trust between your prospects and your team and develop a sense of loyalty that is required for successful team building.

And with this success, you will find success with your business opportunities and in goal accomplishment as well.

Are You Building YOUR Dreams?

I remember when I was younger how I thought I was going to live my adult life. Although I was pretty naive about certain things, I also realized that the process of creating the wealth that I would need to achieve some of my goals was going to require education and work, both of which I was not afraid to get or apply.

Life Gets in the Way

As the years rolled on, something happened, something that many of us have a clear idea about – life. That’s right, somewhere along the way of my achieving great fortune and success life came screaming in a most profound way.

While I thought that by the time I was thirty years old that I would be traveling the globe, visiting Machu Pichu and The Lost City of the Inca’s or exploring the Great Pyramid at Giza, I never suspected in my wildest imagination that I would be working as a plumber in the construction industry wondering what the heck had happened! Where did I go wrong? Where did my plan go astray!
