So you want to know how to really succeed online? This post is for all of you newbie, bright-eyed marketers that believe there is some magic formula, some secret software that the rest of us use, to make money online. Yep, that’s right, I’m on one of my freakin’ rants again, but this one is absolutely true too!

Succeed Online With Effective Marketing

First step in succeeding online is that you realize that these programs and bells and whistle type products that will solve world hunger are not the most important commodity. You have to recognize that it doesn’t matter how good, or even how bad a product is, that it is YOUR ability to market that product that makes the difference.

You can take the best product out there right now and someone that knows exactly how to market and promote can take a crummy product and make a ton more than you, just because they know how.

Yep, if you know how to promote and market your program, product or service then you are going to make money, you are going to add members to your team, you are going to win at this online game.

Get Rid of the Negativity

IF, however, you don’t learn how to effectively market your stuff then the reverse is true and you will lose money like crazy. You will be one of those idiots that sits around and talks about how no one really succeeds online, that all the money making programs out there are nothing but scams and whine and whimper. The problem with that crap is that if you are successful in convincing others of this b.s. then you can do some real damage to someone that could truly use an online program to earn a living.

Brand Yourself an Expert

Second, you need to start marketing yourself. You need to be “the expert,” the one that people look to when they want some information on how to start promoting their opportunity. Hint here: Don’t come across as a new and inexperienced marketer. That’s not to say that when you are asked a question that you do not know the answer to you throw out a lot of b.s. Seriously, if you don’t know, you don’t know, but you can find out. Then you call the next person up or someone that YOU respect and ask them. Find the answer and follow up with the answer – gives you a lot more credibility!

Develop a Strong Work Ethic

So how do you market yourself and effectively market your opportunity? It’s a little thing I like to call work. You create blogs and write articles for you blog and the article directories, you produce videos, you create web 2.0 properties such as squidoo lenses, you write ebooks, make power point presentations. You post on craigslist – not with that same old worn out referral or affiliate link, but a link to your latest video telling people why they need to work with YOU – the expert!

Thought this all would be easy? Think again. Simple, yes, easy, no. The question really is, “Is this worth it?” That answer, for me, is very simple – Hell yes it’s worth it! I love this, I have a passion for it. I love to create material and I love to help others see the light so to speak and get them on the right track.

Is everyone going to succeed? No, they aren’t – for many different reasons, but the main reason is because they are not “coachable” and they give up when things get tough. This business is not for wimps, this business is for those that have a dream and commit to achieving that dream.

Just in case you missed it, that is how you really succeed online.

The Formula For Successful Team Building

Goes like this, figure out what the needs of those involved within your niche are and fill those needs. Sounds easy, but amazingly enough most people don’t get this part. Much of the time the effort that you put forth is not really for other people, but for yourself.

People that you talk to on the phone or in person will figure out if you have an agenda or not, just by the little cues you throw out there. If you ever find yourself in a conversation with someone and you are thinking about how to insert a point about your latest and greatest opportunity into the exchange then you probably aren’t really listening, are you?

So often we sign up to a program or opportunity all excited about the buckets of money we are going to make hitting up everyone we see on our meteoric rise to the top of the heap only to realize after a few days or a couple of weeks that people really don’t want to hear our crap. What? You don’t want to learn how to make money???

Of course, people want to learn how to make money, they just don’t want to hear it from you right now. Why? Because your focus is not on them and their situation or their problem – your focus is on yourself, it’s all about you!

How do we change this?

Understanding Human Nature

First, let’s be honest. In just about every business out there online right now we are involved with other people, so it would make sense that we need to learn how to deal with people. We might even need to like one or two of them!

Let’s start by that listening thing. Do you “actively” listen to someone when they are talking? Do you ask questions, open ended questions, about their life? This IS a start.

No Agendas

Stop trying to figure out an angle to introduce them to the plan. Rather than take a business card and ask if they are interested in making money while handing it to them, tell them you enjoyed the conversation and give it to them because you would like to know more – and be sincere. If you don’t like this person, DON’T GIVE THEM A CARD OR A PHONE NUMBER OR AN EMAIL ADDRESS! Kids do this all of the time, sure you can too.

If you do listen, think of how you can help that person. If it’s not financial, don’t offer a financial solution. Sometimes people just want to know that there is another human out there paying attention to them.

This doesn’t just translate into face to face meetings, it also comes across with the social sites like facebook and what not. Are people speaking with you or at you online? What are your online communication habits?

Put yourself and your issues behind others when you are texting or sending out messages to people. If you are “chatting” with someone online, don’t have ten chats going on at once. Focus on the one, stop focusing on yourself and what you need to become successful.

Building Relationships and Success

If you do this, you will be seen as a professional who cares – and you really will. You will build a level of trust between your prospects and your team and develop a sense of loyalty that is required for successful team building.

And with this success, you will find success with your business opportunities and in goal accomplishment as well.

 

Why Do People Quit?

I don’t get it. I don’t understand the thought process that a person gets to where they decide, “Hey, my next course of action should be to give up…that’s what the REALLY successful people do!”

How in the hell do you give up on your dream? I’m not sure, but after hearing some folks today talk about how hard it was, I just had to make a quick video to rant a bit…so I hope you enjoy and I hope this makes you think just a little bit!

Does network marketing really work or is it a scam? Well, let me first say that I’m no where near being objective about this. I’ve made money with my network marketing opportunity and I’ve seen a lot of other folks make money as well, so I could end this post up with a hearty YES IT WORKS!

However, doing something like that would make for bad blogging and while my blogging efforts aren’t always the best, I do OK and would like to continue down this internet path utilizing my whole blog platform.

Now, let’s get down to business. Why do you think network marketing doesn’t work for so many people? I mean this thing is suppose to have a 95% failure rate, right? Why do so many fail?

To Succeed in MLM You Must Get the Training

First, most people are NEVER properly trained. If you want to market your program online then you’d better get some information on how to effectively market on the Internet. So training, or a lack of training rather, is the first problem.

Learn to Generate Free Leads

Lead generation is the second problem with a network marketing program. Let’s face it, if you cannot generate leads and convert those leads into paying customers or team members then you are dead in the water. You HAVE to have leads for your program and you need to have highly targeted leads for your program.

The good news is this, if you learn how to do it, attracting people that are interested in what you have to offer is not that difficult a process to learn or even teach to other people. The key is to use systems to do the selling and closing for you.

The Problem With an Auto-ship

A third “problem” is that of an auto-ship. Now we can talk about how companies are ripping off their distributors by promoting the auto-ship process, but here is the deal on that.

If you have a steady flow of leads and you are recruiting new members to your organization and they are on the auto-ship program too then your own auto-ship is not a problem because you are making money. If you are making money then you are not so concerned with your auto-ship and you are even probably more than happy to spend the money and get the product or service every month.

Most of these problems have to do with perspective. Let’s face it, if you are making money then all of the other so called “problems” go away. If you are not making money then these same “problems” are magnified and that’s ALL you can think about. Eventually, you will quit.

The secret to succeeding online with a network marketing program is to have a proven marketing system that will help you generate leads, get the accurate and real training you need and that you can actually build a business with. This system will also have to have the ability to work online while you are at work or asleep.
