Does network marketing really work or is it a scam? Well, let me first say that I’m no where near being objective about this. I’ve made money with my network marketing opportunity and I’ve seen a lot of other folks make money as well, so I could end this post up with a hearty YES IT WORKS!

However, doing something like that would make for bad blogging and while my blogging efforts aren’t always the best, I do OK and would like to continue down this internet path utilizing my whole blog platform.

Now, let’s get down to business. Why do you think network marketing doesn’t work for so many people? I mean this thing is suppose to have a 95% failure rate, right? Why do so many fail?

To Succeed in MLM You Must Get the Training

First, most people are NEVER properly trained. If you want to market your program online then you’d better get some information on how to effectively market on the Internet. So training, or a lack of training rather, is the first problem.

Learn to Generate Free Leads

Lead generation is the second problem with a network marketing program. Let’s face it, if you cannot generate leads and convert those leads into paying customers or team members then you are dead in the water. You HAVE to have leads for your program and you need to have highly targeted leads for your program.

The good news is this, if you learn how to do it, attracting people that are interested in what you have to offer is not that difficult a process to learn or even teach to other people. The key is to use systems to do the selling and closing for you.

The Problem With an Auto-ship

A third “problem” is that of an auto-ship. Now we can talk about how companies are ripping off their distributors by promoting the auto-ship process, but here is the deal on that.

If you have a steady flow of leads and you are recruiting new members to your organization and they are on the auto-ship program too then your own auto-ship is not a problem because you are making money. If you are making money then you are not so concerned with your auto-ship and you are even probably more than happy to spend the money and get the product or service every month.

Most of these problems have to do with perspective. Let’s face it, if you are making money then all of the other so called “problems” go away. If you are not making money then these same “problems” are magnified and that’s ALL you can think about. Eventually, you will quit.

The secret to succeeding online with a network marketing program is to have a proven marketing system that will help you generate leads, get the accurate and real training you need and that you can actually build a business with. This system will also have to have the ability to work online while you are at work or asleep.

Is the purpose of a MLM lead generation system just to generate leads or are there other aspects of this type of a system that differentiates itself from creating simple leads or should a mlm lead generation system help the marketer go from lead to prospect to team member?

I like an all encompassing mlm lead generation system, something that will not only help you generate mlm leads, but also train those leads and convert them into active team members. This to me makes a more complete mlm lead generation system and overcomes one of the problems of any type of network marketing system and that is the training.

You must realize that we all come into this network marketing business at different levels. Someone that may be new to your business opportunity may have in fact been involved with network marketing for years and have a lot of experience with mlm – this could be a plus or it could be a negative that must be dealt with.

First, recruiting. Now we are told by our upline in many cases that we need to develop our list of “warm” prospects – you know, our friends and family. Excuse me, I know that some were able to build their businesses this way, about 3% of all of those that entered the industry, but these methods are outdated by a long shot and don’t work for most. A good mlm lead generation system is going to help many succeed where this marketing plow left many frustrated and without success.

Second, training. While you are told in the recruiting process that company so and so is so great and wonderful and they provide the best training in the industry and blah, blah, blah. The problem is when it comes time to train people, your upline has that deer in the headlight look because they don’t know what to do next. Usually this isn’t their fault, but it does present a major problem for the new recruit.

Third, autoship. An autoship within a network marketing company is a given – this has to happen because the whole compensation plan is based on building volume and an autoship does this very effectively. Where this becomes a problem then is when you have a monthly autoship charge and your business is NOT growing. You have money leaving, but nothing coming in. What??? Who thought that was a great way to build a business.

So what’s the answer? There really isn’t another alternative, that’s it. So essentially what we are talking about here is that we are going to actually have to perhaps do a little selling.

There’s that evil word…sell. Look, you are never going to get around this, just the way that it is. You are going to have to sell something to someone whether it be a product or an idea.

Does that mean you have to go out there and push this thing? You know, sell, sell, sell. No, it doesn’t. A mlm lead generation system is going to be designed to target prospects THAT ARE ALREADY LOOKING FOR WHAT YOU ARE OFFERING. That sort of makes the whole “selling” process a little easier, doesn’t it.

A good mlm lead generation system is also going to start the process of information or instructing your leads not only about your company perhaps, but also about misleading concepts and even outright lies about mlm that have been told over and over and over.

Now understand that a lot of folks have built huge businesses with this approach, but for the most part, most people aren’t going to find any success what so ever marketing to their friends and family. I’m one of those guys that does a ton of research and when it comes to something like being able to earn money blogging or generating a passive or residual income, I’m all ears. I wholeheartedly believe in always increasing my knowledge of the Internet whether it’s learning a different or more effective marketing technique or reviewing tools and systems to make things more simple and efficient.

While I have written quite a number of articles surrounding making money online – anywhere, of course – today I’m going to write about how I earn money blogging.

Now when I say “blogging” I may be using the term fairly loosely. I don’t really consider myself a professional blogger, I’m more of an Internet marketer and very proud of the fact. That is not to say I don’t do a bit of so-called blogging when it comes to things that I actually know something about and I do capitalize on that blogging as well from a standpoint of monetizing my blogs in different ways.

Three Methods I Use to Earn Money Blogging

There are a few different ways to earn money blogging and I’m going to go over two or three that I use to earn money with.

First, Google adsense. For me, this is a fantastic program and with this one site I probably generate a couple of hundred dollars a month. Now I know two hundred isn’t anything to write home about, but you also have to remember that this isn’t my only blog! You also have to remember that I am going to have to attract traffic to my blog for other purposes so making money with adsense is just sort of a bonus.

A lot of people use adsense exclusively to earn money blogging and the key is traffic generation and not just any traffic. Like anything else, you want to make sure that your traffic is very targeted. You should only have visitors coming to your site that are interested in what you are offering – sort of makes sense. If you sell bananas you don’t want people looking for apples coming to your site, you want people looking for bananas. Yep, sounds pretty simple when you put it that way.

The second method I use to earn money blogging is with affiliate and referral programs. There are simply tons and tons of programs out there, that you can join to sell many different products. You can partner up with Amazon and sell all kinds of products or you can go with an affiliate opportunity like clickbank and sell digital products. You have many choices to pick from and you shouldn’t have a difficult time finding something that you are interested in promoting.

The Best Way to Earn Money Blogging and From a Blog

I save the best (in my humble opinion) for last, network marketing or MLM. Now I know that for many folks out there network marketing is the last thing you want to hear about. Many people have begun a network marketing career with high hopes only to find themselves in utter frustration and failure within a fairly short period of time…somewhere around 4 months statistically speaking.

However, you need to look at this business model from a business perspective. Network marketing, when done properly (most struggle with this) is fairly simple to build and utilizing the Internet is a fantastic way to build your business because you can automate so many systems and automate so much of the work.

The biggest problem with network marketing is that people are not properly trained to market their programs online. The second biggest problem is that there is typically an auto-ship program of some type or another that distributors are involved with that can slowly drain your cash reserves. There’s nothing like realizing that you have made $23 bucks in the last 3 months, but you have paid out over a grand and things just don’t really seem to be getting any better. Good news, things can get better if you get the proper training!

The key, once again, is learning how to become an effective promoter and marketer of your program. Think about it, if you were able to effortlessly recruit someone every week to your program and then be a part of teaching that person to recruit a person into their business once a week then what would your business look like after 3 months? Probably would be making a buck or two also, wouldn’t you? Like I said, I saved the best for last.

Learning to earn money blogging is not that difficult a process. Yes, there is a bit of a learning curve, but if you are serious you can literally be started within the next 24 hours and begin to generate an income within a couple of months. Although I cannot teach you how to do this stuff overnight so you can make money the next night, you can eventually become a very proficient blogger and you too can earn money blogging online.

Now it’s my firm belief that once you perfected your skills and started gaining momentum that you could do these things on a daily basis, but that’s not what is required here. Just sponsoring 2 to 4 people a month into your network marketing business will make you rich beyond belief!

With a network marketing recruiting system and an effective sales system, these are the sorts of results you should expect, not be surprised by and if you have a proven network marketing recruiting system you should see average people duplicate these types of results. Why?

As stated above, generating leads and converting those leads are a huge deal and without this particular activity going on in your business and your organization, you may as well throw in the towel because your business is dying or is dead. This antiquated “marketing” concept is a lie.

Folks, irritating your friends and loved ones is not the makings of a successful network marketing recruiting system. Period. We have to look at this from a business perspective. The reason that there is a high attrition rate in network marketing is because most existing systems are broken!

One of the keys to understanding this business model and why so many are attracted to it is the promise of a passive, residual income. That’s the idea anyway, but soon into the business many realize that it’s just not as easy as they thought it might be to start sponsoring people into their organizations and without any kind of growth at all folks soon realize that their businesses are dead in the water. This issue coupled with the fact that the autoship is taking money from their bank accounts monthly leads up to one conclusion – a correct conclusion in my estimation – and that is to stop doing what they are doing.

What did I just say? Yep, I said stop doing what you are doing aka quit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying to walk away from the industry and I’m not even saying you need to quit your current company. What I am saying is that you should quit doing the things that you have been taught to do by your upline that are not working. What you need to do instead is involve yourself and your business in a network marketing recruiting system that actually works. The sales system can come later, but for now you need a recruiting system that actually works, that ANYONE can follow and sponsor with.

The dream for me was always to be able to work online at home, or anywhere that I wanted to call home for the day. I could picture it and had pictured it in my mind for quite some time and knew that this was what I wanted. Period.

Perhaps some folks that are looking for a business model to get involved with are out of work now, like so many good folks out there and they are desperate to find a way to replace their incomes because as we all know, the bills don’t stop and most of us still like to eat and stuff. Learning ways that will allow these individuals to work online at home is more than just wanting to live a specific lifestyle, it may just be a matter of providing for a family.

So, this is the motivation for my post today on how to work online at home. One of the reasons I’m such a fan of this idea in the first place is because I’ve always been a bit of a rebel and just don’t have the stomach for others to tell me how I should be living my life. In most economies out there, money is generated through the sale of a product or service. When you make money online at home, these rules apply like they would offline under any other circumstances…heck the drug business is even a business that operates under the same economic rules as anything else.

Trading Hours For Dollars (There is only one You!)

Service industries are huge, but often times are difficult to create real passive income with because they generally require an exchange of labor (either mental labor or physical labor) for a set income. The plumber comes to your home and you feel is taking you for your life savings, but his or her income is limited by their ability to only work so many hours.

If you want to find a way to make money online at home with the service model there are some things that you could do. Some folks are able to earn an income by developing websites, graphics or perhaps an article or two. If you have the ability to write, then you too can probably find some quick freelance type of work.

As stated above working in any type of service industry can generate some income, but because you are somewhat limited in your ability to work (you do have to sleep from time to time and there are only 24 hours in a day), I don’t really like this method although you can work online at home with many different freelance types of careers, so you could say that this method meets the qualifications of a work online at home type of business opportunity, but just barely.

Work Online At Home Developing and Selling a Product

Now, let’s look at creating a product. If you were able to create a product and market this product successfully utilizing the web, this would certainly qualify as a work online at home type of model. If you create digital products like e-courses for a specific niche or hobby this is even better because you have little in terms of financial capital invested or inventory that must be warehoused.

If you are looking to make money online at home by developing different products you could find a lot of success, but you do need to learn how to develop your product and market your product(s). If you are good at creating content and different products, test these products to ensure that there are markets for them and then are able to test all of this stuff out there then you could make a good living.

Another benefit of utilizing this method to make online income at home is that you can automate much of the process leaving you available to enjoy the rewards of a successful product campaign.

The Dreaded Competition

The downfall of developing a product and getting it out on the internet is that people, also known as your competitors, will develop similar and often times better products and sell them at a cheaper price. Oops, there goes your profits!

Work Online At Home With A Smile

In my opinion there is one excellent way and one particularly awesome business model that will allow me to meet my goal of being able to work online at home, sell a product or service to others, create a team that will help me continue to grow my business and income and do it with a smile on their face! Network Marketing.

Network marketing or MLM is one of my all time favorite business models and one of the best ways to work online at home today.

Now, I know that there are problems with this type of business model, but try to analyze this model with a business perspective. First, most of the programs have a fairly inexpensive entry level and even at this entry level you have access to products, training and marketing information – worth the cost of entry almost every time!

Second, when you build your business by developing others, you are creating a team that you don’t mind competing against you. Why? Because if you show Bob or Mary how to rank well on the search engines for their products and they do well, then you are also rewarded.

Third, if you are going to have to learn how to drive traffic whether it is with a network marketing opportunity or an affiliate product of some sort. Why not build up traffic with folks that you can teach to develop their own traffic and once again be rewarded for doing so in the sense that you are building your own work online at home business? Like I said, you have to do it anyway and I would rather have these folks on my team rather than compete directly with them down the road.

In the end there are many different ways to develop a business that will allow you to work online at home. The secret is finding one of these programs that works for you. While I have generated an income from many different business models, for me, the network marketing programs are the best and this is why I put them at the number one spot in my businesses that allow me to work online at home or abroad!
