On the Lookout for Committed Business Builders

How many times have you heard someone tell you that they really want to build a business because they are tired of working for so and so company and their boss is a real jerk and they just want to go out and build a business so they can buy their freedom and have time to spend with their family and blah, blah, blah – only to have this person look at you and say something like, “Yeah, but Tuesdays I need to leave open because MY show is on!” What?

Look, business is business and I don’t care if you are building the newest and latest McDonald’s restaurant or the slickest cancer treatment center or a blog that you hope will set you apart from your competition, success never depends on making a decision to build a business, it requires you making a commitment to build your business.

If you don’t understand this concept, I can tell you that you have never built a successful business. I don’t care who you are. As soon as you lose your focus and stop committing to taking action in a consistent and persistent way towards achieving your business goals, it ain’t happening for you!

This may sound mean or whatever, I don’t really care, but until you stop beating around the bush and commit to your own success I’m not interested in helping you one single bit. It’s not fair to me, it’s sure as hell not fair to those that ARE committed and want to build something big and it’s not even fair to you.

The people that build businesses, that create large organizations are those that are willing to take the time and make the effort that other people aren’t willing to do. This isn’t a judgement either, I don’t care if you are interested in my business opportunity or not, that’s up to you, but once you make the decision to join my team I require a commitment from you to the team we are going to build together. I require a commitment from you when things are tough and your organization isn’t growing like you want it to. I require a commitment from you when things are great, you are making money, but someone on your team is struggling.

I am ALWAYS on the lookout for committed business builders and leaders. These are the folks I want to spend time with, these are the individuals I want my family to associate with and these are the folks that I am going to help and together we are going to build the largest and biggest organization ever known to network marketing. That’s why I’m on the lookout for committed business builders and if you are one I want to talk to you! If you are not willing to make that commitment, then go join someone else’s organization – I’m not intersted.

Anchor Text and SEO: Exact Match The Way To Go?

Before I really get going here I want to first say that I know for a lot of people coming to this blog you are going to be scratching your head wondering just what the hell is SEO in the first place, much less what do all of the other terms mean? Terms like SEO (search engine optimization), on page seo, anchor text, partial matching anchor text and blah, blah, blah.

It reminds me of the character of the Mayor in the animated film “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,” where the main character, Flint Lockwood, is telling the Mayor about the dangers of overloading his food machine. The Mayor responds, “You know what I heard? Blah, blah, blah, blah, science, science, science, BIGGER! And Bigger is Better!”

Understanding What It Takes To Keep Your Site “Up There!”

When you first come onto the blogging or Internet scene there are a lot of “little” things, especially terms, that you probably have never heard before and there comes a point and time when you realize that you are going to have to get at least a rudimentary grasp of what some of these things actually mean and how they impact you and your search engine ranking efforts!

This is about the time when I hear someone say, “You don’t really need to rank well with the search engines, it’s not THAT big of a deal.” My feelings there are Yes and No, but when you learn how to rank on the first page of Google (or some of the other search engines) AND you realize that it isn’t really that hard to do, why would you walk away from so much traffic? Your competitor probably isn’t going to!

Ranking well on the search engines is important and don’t let anyone tell you that it isn’t. Yes, you can generate a lot of traffic from different sources and in the long run will probably get most of your traffic from other sites that link back to yours, but if you learn to drive a thousand people or more to your blog per day and your search engine traffic is a paltry 15% of that traffic, that’s 150 people. I’m just not prepared to throw one hundred plus people away like they mean nothing. What if inside that group of 150 you have someone there that has a blog that gets 15,000 or even 50,000 people a day to their site and they decide they want to connect? Food for thought, food for thought.

Anchor Text: Exact or Partial

So, now that all of that is off of my head, we need to get down to business and talk about anchor text…what is it and why do you need to know about it? Anchor text is basically the text that you use to insert a backlink back to your site.

For example, if you are going to promote a blog post with an article, in the bottom portion of the article that you write is an author’s resource box. This author’s resource box is generally where you will put two links back to your blog and blog post. The text that you use to link back to your site or post is referred to as the “anchor” text.

Up until the Google Panda update most bloggers or SEO professionals would insert their links using an exact match. An example of this would be if you were writing an article about the iPod Touch then you would make your author’s resource box with an exact match by writing a statement like the following:

To learn more about <a href://yourblogurl.com/ipod-touch/>iPod Touch</a> then check out www.yourblog.com for more information.

The above is an example of an exact match and this has been taught as good backlink building in terms of SEO. The problem is, that it may no longer be the best SEO technique and that a partial match may be the way to go according to many SEO experts.

An example of a partial match would be something along these lines…oh, and we are still using the key phrase iPod Touch:

To learn more about the <a href=http://yourblogurl.com/ipod-touch/>iPod</a> Touch then check out www.yourblog.com for more information.

The above link is a quick example of a partial link back to your blog post referring to the iPod Touch.

Understanding HTML Code

One other thing, I know a lot of you out there are still unfamiliar with HTML, but you need to learn a little. The above code is how you insert a link into a site using HTML. Some sites will actually have the link tab at the top (like WordPress) and all you will have to do is highlight the word or phrase (ANCHOR TEXT) and then click the “insert link” button and that is fine too.

I’m not going to sit here and tell you guys that I am the big daddy guru of SEO, but I can read and I have been checking out this information concerning building backlinks. Remember why we are doing all of this guys. I know this can be some boring stuff, but this is exactly the sort of thing that you have know and understand to be able to rank your posts, articles and website on the first page of Google and keep it there! Knowing how to employ these techniques will keep you and your information at the top of the SERP’s and that will generate tons of free and targeted organic traffic – who wants to throw that away?
